Trevis Smalls is a native son of Charleston, South Carolina — born and raised with the kind of work ethic that’s measured in early mornings, tight corners, and clean finishes. His journey into construction started not in a classroom, but in the hands-on learning spaces of job sites alongside his uncle a skilled craftsman who passed down the foundational lessons of the trade.
Trevis’ professional journey began with Charleston Woodworks, where his attention to detail quickly set him apart. Known for delivering high-quality craftsmanship others relied on to make their builds shine, his name became synonymous with precision and pride.
He formally earned his General Contractor’s license through Trident Technical College, later advancing his skills while managing large-scale residential builds for leading homebuilders across the Carolinas. It was here he expanded into project oversight, subcontractor coordination, and site leadership, gaining firsthand experience in managing timelines, budgets, and high-expectation clients.
In 2006, Trevis founded Port City Construction, LLC, combining his hands-on expertise with his passion for building community — one home and one business at a time.
Trevis is also more than just a builder — he’s a father of two, a youth football coach, and a mentor to aspiring tradesmen. When he’s not managing a job site or reviewing blueprints, you can find him on the football field every weekend coaching his son’s little league team, or on the green enjoying his favorite sport: golf.
He brings the same excellence, focus, discipline, and integrity to his community that he brings to his projects.
